A family of six and a smiling bulldog puppy!

This is our second family session with this client who this time brought Titus, the newest member of their family, a 9-month-old American bulldog puppy.  When I first saw Titus, I couldn't believe those eyes!  They looked just like human eyes!  Well, we captured some family portraits with the client ordering a large wall portrait and some Christmas cards that we were able to order and get back in two business days! The prints they ordered are shown below.  Thanks Trish for letting us capture your lovely family again!  Wishing you the best as the Army sends you off to your new duty station!

Our cute little TERRORS, I mean Terriers!

Here are the remaining images from Charlie and Toto's Christmas portraits.  The first blogpost of their Christmas portraits can be viewed here.  These two little TERRORS are keeping my husband and I very active in our "Golden" years!  Shown last is our Christmas card for this holiday season.  God bless all of you and remember to unleash the joy this holiday season!

History and Studio Tour with CTM Photography

Join us on some history and a tour of Capturing The Moment Photography's professional home studio.

Over eight years ago, when we found out that our adjoining neighbors in the country decided not to build, we jumped on the opportunity and bought their 72-acre property.  We nearly missed out on this blessing as we almost built on our original seven acres.  My husband bailed out the day before going to the bank to get a home loan.  To say I was upset was an understatement as I had already picked out the log-type house that I fell in love with.  Looking back, God had His hand in the situation as we ended up with land that we both always dreamed of having which included a pond and some woods.  The woods come in real handy for outside portraits on windy days since the wind hardly blows there.

We decided on a modular home and found one with a 15x30' room that would work perfectly as a portrait studio.

Often when first-time clients drive out in the country to our studio, I can tell they are somewhat hesitant because of the look on their face(s) after they get out of their vehicle!  They look like they aren't sure if we are a real studio!  We have our business name on our mailbox, but apparently that's not enough.  Hence, the reason for this blogpost!

The first image below is the studio facing north with our popular white background currently set up.  Our flex backgrounds are leaning against the west wall to the left behind the main studio light.

The image below depicts the studio facing south.  Vinyl shower curtains are over the windows when photographing with window light.  The three long shelves to the right contain various props and backgrounds.  Our second background stand to the left currently has a white and black damask background on it.

We have almost every available space filled with a prop or background.  Now when you drive out on the country gravel road to our abode, you don't have to wonder if you really are coming to a real live studio!

Jazzlynn and a spoiled lady

Jazzlynn brought her pet dog to her HS senior studio portrait session.  When I asked her dog's name, I was told "Lady," and also "Spoiled!"  "Spoiled Lady" enjoyed her visit to Capturing The Moment Photography but she wasn't too interested in getting her portraits taken as you can tell by her expression in the images below. We couldn't get her to smile though she still looks adorable!  I wanted to try a different type of look during this session which is the first portrait below of Jazzlynn in black and white, and also one of her favorites along with the rest of her favorites shown below.  Jazzlynn, we so enjoyed our visits after both sessions.  Thanks for the privilege to capture you during this special time in your life!  Love you and your mom!

Ebony's beautiful autumn portraits!

It started out slightly overcast, perfect for outdoor portraiture in late afternoon! Ebony's three outfits went perfect with the beautiful autumn colors! After taking a couple portraits on at old wooden bridge, Ebony noticed a stream that she wanted to cross over.  I like that creative side of Ebony! Those of her walking on the rocks in the stream turned out to be her favorites.  Then the sun started to come out and made the pretty tree leaves sparkle with color!  My favorites from her autumn session are show below.  To view all her images from her last two sessions, click here.

Tamara's autumn portraits with blue herons and pelicans at Milford Lake

I just love this outfit Tamara wore for her autumn session and we were pleasantly surprised to discover the colors at Milford Lake complimented her outfit perfectly!  After seeing a blue heron sitting near a bench we grabbed a shot before he flew away and merged that image with one of Tamara in it.  We didn't have to do that for the one of her on the beach with the four pelicans in the background.  I couldn't believe how many blue herons there were at the Milford beach and have included a shot of them below.  My favorites from this session are included below and all from this session and her previous one can be viewed here.  Enjoy!
