J'Mael took his "casual dress" session this Friday around the time the severe thunderstorm was leaving the area. You can see the dark cloud background from the storm in his first shot. The second shot was not planned as we were finished with the session and they were getting ready to leave. I rushed in to get the camera so we wouldn't miss this awesome rainbow that was in the east. The fourth shot J'Mael and J'Nessa are making finger signals to signify the Class of 2012. That was totally their idea! I had a lot of fun with this brother and sister this year. They made my job so rewarding. Be looking out for J'Nessa's casual shots soon.

Family Portraits at Homer Pond
It was a beautiful Spring day at Homer Pond in Junction City, Kansas, that made it a perfect time to take portraits of my client's extended family. After the family portraits were done, we captured some interaction between family members that I promise will pull at your heart strings. I've have included them for your viewing pleasure... :)

J'Nessa and her Japanese Kimono
During this portrait session with dressy outfits, J'Nessa wore a beautiful kimono. We used a sky blue paper background that went perfect with her kimono. In the outside session, one of our willow trees at our pond was the perfect setting to showcase her outfit. I went overboard with her kimono outfits, and you will see why as you view these favorites from her session. Enjoy!
J'Mael graduates from Apostolic Academy
I was glad J'Mael brought his sunglasses as I have been wanting to do this pose. It fits him so well! He also intentionally wore a white tie with his black outfit (below) and asked that I put 2012 on the tie. I thought that was a great idea! We photographed J'Mael and his sister for their 8th Grade Graduate Portraits and it seems like it was just the other day. J'Mael has grown into such a fine looking young man. I've have included our favorites from his session and will be adding his sister's favorites soon. Enjoy! :)

Jennifer's Senior High School Graduation Portraits
In the entryway to our gully is a perfect spot to get rim lighting as is shown in the first black and white portrait of Jennifer. Afterwards we went to our pond and the sun was setting during this "golden hour" and produced a nice reflection of Jennifer in the water. Sure is nice having an early Spring this year and not having to battle the chiggers that love me so much! Jennifer wore some sharp outfits for her studio portraits and I have included my favorites from Saturday's indoor and outdoor session for your viewing pleasure. You may view all of Jennifer's portraits in a slideshow here.

A.J.'s Senior High School Portraits
A.J. is another recent senior that we photographed that likes to read. He also is a very talented musician so we are planning to get him posed with a piano. We weren't expecting to get good weather on Saturday afternoon, but were able to get in some "country" shots with the white clouds looming over acting as a large softbox in the sky. This is my first time getting a senior posed with an antique looking truck and it is one of my favorites from his session, along with these that I have attached for your viewing pleasure... :)
