Never too early for Christmas portraits

This family of six is getting an early start on their Christmas portraits this year.  They plan to also do a session in the fall to complete their Christmas portraits.  Their daughter is such a doll!  She took great delight in the pose where the family walked and swung her while walking.  I enjoyed this session with this beautiful family and am looking forward to doing their portraits in the fall.  I have included my favorites from this morning's session.  Enjoy!

Janelle, Autumn in the woods, and a pumpkin

This session was probably one of my easiest sessions to date.  Janelle was a natural poser.  She looks so elegant and lady-like in her portraits.  The weather was perfect for water reflections in our pond; however, the sun was still bright, so I had her looking away so she wouldn't squint from the sun.  The willow trees at the pond made for a good prop during a back-lit portrait which we converted to black and white.  The sun was still bright before the session ended which gave Janelle the chance to wear her sunglasses and pose with a pumpkin against the beautiful Autumn scenery.  I have included my favorites from her session for your viewing pleasure....

Graduate Portraits in the Snow

Katilin wanted her 8th grade graduate portraits in the snow.  We were blessed with snowy weather on Wednesday and were able to do them in the early afternoon since school was canceled.  These were taken in the woods behind her home.  We had a lot of fun in this session and I was happy to give this client exactly want they wanted!  I've included my favorites from her snowy portrait session!  Enjoy! 

 

Cameron's 8th Grade Graduate Portraits

Cameron loves the outdoors and it sure showed in the portraits we took last weekend.  I couldn't believe he was able to climb up on a limb that was much taller than him.  I took the pic as fast as I could as it made me (and his mom) nervous seeing him out on the limb!  Made for a pretty cool shot though!  I encourage my customers to mainly wear solid colors.  It makes for a better portrait as the clothing doesn't overpower the person in the portrait and that is quite evident in the last ones displayed here in his white shirt.  I just love this last shot of him below.  I have included my favorites of his session.  Enjoy!  :)

A Teenager in the Woods
