Cameron's HS Senior Portraits

It makes me feel good to have a high school senior guy come in for his session not because he wants his portrait taken but to please his mom!  That was the case with Cameron.  The images below are their favorites and I have included for you viewing pleasure.  Enjoy!

Toto kills Easter bunny - Bunny lovers beware!!!

        First, I apologize to all those bunny lovers that I may have offended.  I used to be a bunny lover until some cute bunnies destroyed our pretty rose bush and a couple young trees!
        Toto is not as fast as his brother Charlie, but he is a persistent little guy and is not afraid like Charlie.  The image of Toto below was taken several weeks ago but I thought it fitting to share this Easter season along with some history of the Easter Bunny.
        The origin of the Easter Bunny has roots that go back to pre-Christian, Anglo-Saxon history. The holiday was originally a pagan celebration that worshiped the goddess Eastre. She was the goddess of fertility and springtime and her earthly symbol was the rabbit.  Thus the pre-Christian Anglo-Saxons worshiped the rabbit believing it to be Eastre's earthly incarnation. 
        When the Anglo-Saxons were converted to Christianity, the pagan holiday, which occurred around the same time as the Christian memorial of Jesus' resurrection from the dead, was combined with the Christian celebration and given the name Easter.

Derek and Naomi's high school senior portraits

Derek and Naomi are my second high school senior clients from Basehor-Linwood High School. We feel honored that they drove all the way from Basehor, Kansas, for their high school senior portraits. Quesia's Studio Session

The outfits Quesia wore to her studio session were so pretty!  We worked like clockwork to get a myriad of backgrounds with various poses in all her outfits.  Quesia liked so many of her poses; however, I asked her to narrow down her favorites which we have included below.  All portraits from her studio session can be viewed here.

Weston's Cap and Gown Portraits

We used three different backgrounds in Weston's cap and gown session. A light gray background that we used with window light, then for the studio lighting we used a blue background and finished up with a brown background.  Those three colors seemed to go well with his dark navy blue cap and gown with gold stole and tassel.  I've included all of Weston's favorites but I personally think he looks awesome in the first one shown below!!!  Weston, we all had a lot of fun with your sessions and my "assistant" :) and I are so proud of you!  We feel privileged to have captured these moments during this special time in your life! May God richly bless you in all your future endeavors!!!

Weston's Studio Session

Just before the session, I asked Weston if he had any other props he would like to include and he mentioned bringing his guitar.  That was a pleasant surprise as I didn't know he was a guitarist! Years from now it will mean so much to look back on his images and remember what vehicle he drove and that he learned to play the guitar while in school. We were able to get a variety of looks for his studio portraits and will finish up with his cap and gown soon, so be on the lookout!
