Destiny's cap and gown portraits

One of the benefits of being a photographer is I get to better know the seniors that are graduating and Destiny is a senior I felt privileged to get to know.  She is a lady of character and I admire her walk with God.  I love her personality and was glad she went along with the crazy faces with her cap and gown as they turned out to be one of her favorites along with the others I have included below.  They have also been added to her favorites from her previous session here. A purple dress, clutch purse, cedars trees, and more

Along with Liz' cap and gown portraits we photographed her in her senior sweatshirt and senior top along with her dressy purple outfit that arrived too late for her first session.  Her purple dressy outfit went perfect with our black and white damask background as she held her black clutch purse she brought along as a prop. We changed from the damask background to our creamy canvas background that has a hint of colored hues mixed in.  We took advantage of the good weather outside to get Liz in her senior sweatshirt and jean skirt.  About the only thing in color outside right now are cedar trees which turned out to be a nice foreground and background element in one of her closeup images.  We recently painted one of our walls in our living room gold, and that turned out as a perfect match to the colors in her senior shirt outfit.  We made a collage with the two poses against the gold wall background and it is my favorite which is included below along with other favorites from her portrait session.  I am so looking forward to her next session that will be done in a beautiful and colorful spot in Kansas along with a stop at a small rural town.

Ithamar's Cap & Gown, Senior Shirt, and Casual Portraits

Ithamar looked really sharp in his black and gold cap and gown that he wore with a black shirt and gold tie!  I like how black clothing goes with our brown flexible background and used it also for his senior shirt that is also black and gold.  We grabbed a quick outside shot with his senior shirt and the remaining session was with his casual outfit taken against a white background for the "killer shot" and then the rest we took outside on a overcast day.  I warned Ithamar that it would probably be very muddy for his outside portraits and he said he didn't mind the muddy conditions and thought it would add to the effect!  I admire Ithamar's positive attitude.  I have included some of our favorites from Ithamar's session for you to enjoy!

Anna's Studio Session ~ Cap and Gown

Since we captured Anna outside and in her element on her previous sessions, we focused this studio session on Anna's cap and gown portraits in the studio and three dressy outfits.  Since A.A. seniors' graduation T-shirts will be red, white and blue, we went with a red, white, and a blue backgrounds for her cap and gown portraits.  My intention is to get to know the high school seniors as much as possible so that I can portray their personalities in their portraits, and I hope I have done that with Anna's portraits from her session shown below.  I so appreciated her mom coming along as she was such a blessing during Anna's session!

Janelle's Studio Session ~ Cap and Gown

We completed Janelle's final session in the studio along with her cap and gown portraits.  I liked Janelle's choice of clothing as it went well with her skin tones.  We used four different backgrounds to compliment her outfits, and I must say I'm having a hard time to determine which ones are my favorites from her session.  I told Janelle that she was probably the most elegantly posed senior that I have ever photographed.  She was a natural! I have selected some from her studio session and included them for you to enjoy!

Marjorie's Cap and Gown Portraits

I just love how the red background goes with Marjorie's blue cap and gown.  Marjorie was a willing subject and provided some crazy expressions during her photo session.  I told her to just pretend she was in school and use expressions she was familiar with!  Ha!  We also used a new green floral background and an old background that I decided would go well with the bible portrait.  I have included my favorites from her session for your viewing pleasure....

Jennifer's Senior High School Graduation Portraits

In the entryway to our gully is a perfect spot to get rim lighting as is shown in the first black and white portrait of Jennifer.  Afterwards we went to our pond and the sun was setting during this "golden hour" and produced a nice reflection of Jennifer in the water.  Sure is nice having an early Spring this year and not having to battle the chiggers that love me so much!  Jennifer wore some sharp outfits for her studio portraits and I have included my favorites from Saturday's indoor and outdoor session for your viewing pleasure.
