Weston's HS Senior Portraits on the Farm

Weston's favorites below are from his first HS senior portrait session at his favorite spot--the Farm.  The first image recently had a roof added to it.  We traveled around the farm on their ATV which is shown as a background in one of the images below.  Weston's favorite image was taken in front of a windmill on the property and we converted it to sepia. Soon, Lord willing and weather permitting, we will be photographing his next session which will be one of Weston's favorite activities on the water, so stay tuned. :)

Meet Charlie and Toto Smith

Meet Charlie and Toto, our new 8-week old Rat Terrier puppies.  Toto is smaller than his brother and has tan eyebrows and tan on his cheek.  The first image below is of Toto.  We picked them up yesterday in Marysville, Kansas, and life has been hectic trying to potty train these two brothers.

Rat Terriers are known to be digging escape artists who are true terriers: fiesty, funny, energetic, lively, vermin-chasing, and incapable of being boring.  President Theodore Roosevelt is said to have given the breed its name after his own terrier had eradicated the rat infestation at the White House; clearly, the Rat Terrier excels as a public servant--as long as its in its own best interest.

Their first portraits are of them in their first sleeping arrangement.  Even though Toto is smaller, he is the one that escaped out of his sleeping basket last night.

Austin's Studio Session

I don't know of any teenager more easy going than Austin.  I think he favors his grandpa so much.  Too bad he wasn't available to take portraits with Austin this time. :(  With Austin's three outfits we used our popular brown canvas that went well with his executive style outfit; our military style background that his mom liked for the wrinkles (I hate background wrinkles!); and our popular white background that went so well with Austin's skin tones and outfit.  For fun, we threw in a fish-eye picture of Austin wearing a cowboy hat and his cowboy boots.  I have include our favorites for you to enjoy!

Granddaughter portraits and a family portrait at the mall

My granddaughter, DaShane, and her mom came to spend the night, and of course we had to throw in some studio portraits.  The day before we stopped by the mall with her mom and dad and took a family portrait in the mall since it was sooooo windy outside!  DaShane has grown up into a beautiful young lady and I am busting at the buttons to show off her and her family portraits!  Enjoy!

My firstborn's family portraits

It is with sheer delight to show off my dearest firstborn's family portraits taken while recently spending a week with them in Florida.  My daughter Angela asked me to photograph her wedding held on her fiance's birthday on April 10.  We were able during that busy week of wedding preparation to take photographs of the family at a beautiful park in Tampa, Florida.  I am now the proud grandmother of three additional darling grandchildren and in August I will become a great grandmother thanks to my first grandchild Victoria.  The portraits of Angela's family are shown below in order of youngest to eldest then ending with a few group poses.  Enjoy!

My Best Photo for 2015!

Every time I look at this image, I get tickled at the expression I was fortunate to capture.  I would love to tell you that this was a planned shot; however, I was going for a totally different image of several horses lined up against the fence.  After realizing that I wasn't going to get what I wanted, I dumped all of the horse treats over the fence for the horses and sat on my overturned empty bucket watching the horses gobble up the treats.  Since the weather was recently stormy, the sky was a beautiful backdrop for the scene. As I sat on the bucket and shot upward at the horses eating the treats, I captured this hilarious image of the horse as if he was actually laughing! My plans are to order this photo as a metal print at Social Print Studio.  That would be an awesome way to display my best photo for 2015!!!
