For her HS senior portraits, Ruth wanted an urban session and also portraits with nature during the golden hour. We headed to big town Junction City for her urban session and finished up on top of J-Hill during the "golden hour." For a fun shot, we stopped at the mural on the building at 6th and Washington while Ruth placed herself into the railroad scene in the mural. Her mom met us on J-Hill bringing Ruth's pet dog, Cosmo. Cosmo took the show with his cute little self and we were fortunate to capture Cosmo kissing Ruth during one of her poses. We so enjoyed this session with Ruth and Cosmo and am happy to share her favorites included below.

Five cute cousins and a donkey encounter
Megan wasn't overly thrilled to get her 1-year-old portraits so we used some props to entice her. The first rocking chair prop provided us some darling expressions as she rock happily along! After the rocker, we grabbed a quick shot before she ventured off and this second image below proved to be her mom's favorites image of the session. Mawmaw gathered the cousins for a group shot before we changed to window light with Megan with the wooden horse prop. Outside, you couldn't ask for a better day to capture these darling cousins in the beautiful morning light against a colorful autumn background. We finished the session off with our donkeys while Megan was introduced to Ozark and Emmy Lou who also celebrated her 1st birthday that day. The last portrait collage shows Megan's cute expressions from her donkey encounter! We have included the clients favorite images below for your viewing pleasure!

Family Portraits in the Barn
The weather forecast did not look good so we planned to do family portraits in the barn using my Quantum flash with softbox. After arriving, there was a bit of light left so we rushed to do a few outside portraits. You should have seen how fast the boys were moving to get the straw bale in place to get this portrait that faced their home! It was getting dark as you can tell by the lights that came on in the front of their home in the background of the image below. This turned out to be their favorite portrait. Someone mentioned doing a walking image so we hurried to get that done and the dogs cooperated nicely by walking with their masters down the path. The two outside portraits and the ones from the barn are the clients' favorites and I have included them for you to enjoy!

A charming couple in the country...
This charming couple from Mississippi wanted to do portraits in the country for Christmas cards and in celebration of their soon coming 25th wedding anniversary. The second portrait below is on the front of their Christmas card which can be viewed on Capturing The Moment's Creative Design tab on our website. Though it was cold, we were able to get several nice poses that they picked from their short session in the country. I have included some of their favorites for you to enjoy!

The Christmas Card and Country Portraits
This lovely family drove up from Emporia to get their portraits done. Wish the weather was not so cold, but we managed to get some nice portraits nonetheless. We alternated the outside shots between the inside shots to maximize the customers time and to avoid the "red nose" look! I just love how they coordinated their outfits! JoDee said she wanted that "country" look for her outside portraits so we took some near the corral and added our horse Ace. I have a bunch of favorites from this session which I have included for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
